SMAW (ARC): Shielded Metal Arc Welding or Manual Metal Arc Welding. This is also known as stick welding. We are able to weld iron, multiple steels (including stainless), aluminum, nickel, and copper alloys may also be welded with SMAW.
GMAW (MIG): Gas Metal Arc Welding, Metal Inert Gas, or Metal Active Gas Welding. This type of welding is usually used on aluminum.
GTAW (TIG): Gas Tungsten Arc Welding or Tungsten Inert Gas Welding. Also, if Helium is used, it is called Heliarc Welding. This type of welding is most commonly used on thin sections of metal. Types of metal that can be TIG welded are: stainless steel, aluminum, magnesium, and copper alloys.
